THE THEATRE AND THE DIDACTIC OF LANGUAGES
The belief, since my university formation, that the communication is reinforced and is better performed in the theatrical form, expression both verbal and gestural of interaction among human beings and animals, urges me to experiment theatre not only as a audience and a scholar of this genre, but also to attend for more than five years (from 1995 to 2003) a Stage Director Course meant to achieve staging skills, sponsored by the Education Superintendence under the regular and skillful guide of the stage director and actor Gabriele Marchesini.
Two main events at the end of the the cycle:
  • A joint work of the Teachers' Group, under the stage director Marchesini, for the staging of a play written by the Nobel Prize playwright and actor Dario Fo "Chi ruba un piede è fortunato in amore" (Who steals a foot is lucky with love), using students belonging to different Bolognese High Schools, as actors.
  • Planning and staging of a new play by the Teachers' Group with Teachers' acting themselves. The play whose title is "...E la nave va?" (...And does the ship sail?) is performed formerly in the Amphitheatre of Teatro Comunale di Bologna "Arena del Sole" (Bologna Municipal Theatre) and then repeated in some theatres of Bologna province. My mysterious role is that of a manager named Irena Prosp.
To reinforce increasingly my knowledge on the theatre and communication matters I attend two further Seminars on "Communication with Theatre, Music and Reading" again under the sponsorship of Bologna Education Superintendence during the academic years 1999 and 2000.
In 1999 I attend the Updating Seminar called "Il linguaggio cinematografico" (The language of the cinema) sponsored by the Ministry of Public Education
STAGE PRODUCTION FOR THE "THEATRE OF SCHOOLS"

Even more convinced that Theatre is the most suitable genre to help oral production also in a foreign language, thus allowing the most introvert and timid student to acquire a self-confident and autonomous speech, I decide to take advantage of my theatrical and stage directing competences giving birth to the "Experimental Theatre in Language", with the students, in the two main High Schools where I have been teaching for many years as professor of foreign languages and with the group we participate with deep and regular engagements to the Review "Theatre of Schools" sponsored by the Education Superintendence, with new plays of which I look after all the steps of the projects: stage scripts, acting, sceneries, costumes, music, publicity and sponsorship.

  • Liceo Classico e Sperimentale "L. Galvani" di Bologna (Experimental Classic High School with emphasis on humanities , "Luigi Galvani" in Bologna)
    1. 1998-1999 - "C'est l'absurde ? ... No, thanks" a three-language-acted play (English, French and Italian) at the Amphitheatre of the Municipal Theatre "Arena del Sole" in Bologna Galleria Fotografica
    2. 1999-2000 - Cats & Cats acting and musical (with live music and songs by the students) at the Municipal Theatre "Arena del Sole" in Bologna Galleria Fotografica
  • Liceo Scientifico "Augusto Righi" di Bologna(Scientific High School with emphasis on sciences, "Augusto Righi" in Bologna)
    1. 2002-2003 - Romeo & Juliet go West acting and musical (with live music and songs by the students) at the Municipal Theatre "Arena del Sole" in Bologna Galleria Fotografica
    2. 2005-2006 - Ireland: a terrible beauty acting and musical (with live music and songs and Celtic Dances by the students) at the Municipal Theatre "A. Manzoni" in Bologna Galleria Fotografica
All the above - mentioned projects have been kindly and skillfully supported by the Responsible for the Theatre Public Relations (P.R.) Marinella Dogliotti, at present President of the Cultural Association "Amici delle Muse" (Muses' Friends).
